TAHLAN POLL HEREFORDS
Having quiet, efficient cattle is important to us!
Here at Runnymede we have been searching for the right cross to suit our operation, and we believe we are on the money with our Santa/Poll Hereford calves. Right from day one these calves have impressed us. Out of Santa cows by Poll Hereford bulls these calves are weighing as heavy as our Shorthorn/ Charolais calves but are on average 6 to 8 weeks younger. We've had no problems calving them down and have also been very happy with the genetic dehorning that the bulls have provided us with.
Being a professional Kangaroo shooter in my spare time, sleep is a luxury, and the less I have to worry about the cattle the better I like it. If you want to discuss marketability they've ticked that box as well. An agent on his way to nearby Whyalla feedlot saw them in the paddock and wheeled his car around and offered to buy them. He said that he can't get enough of them.
We've been very happy with the bulls that we have purchased from Tahlan and would recommend them to anyone.

Rodgers Creek Feedlot feeds predominantly for a Woolworth's contract but also custom feeds and markets cattle for private clients. As well as Woolworth's we market cattle to various processors on the Darling Downs, South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
This is the first year that we have fed the Scurr cattle and we are very impressed with them. They are currently running at a better than feedlot average for weight gain. From a lot-feeders point of view these cattle are desirable through their ability to finish heavy with an optimum fat cover. This makes it easy to target the premium markets.
I could have sold the Scurr cattle a number of times with a number of processors expressing an interest in purchasing them over their time on feed. On the back of this I take great pleasure in recommending the use of Tahlan Bulls to improve market acceptability.
